“Knightly” corrupt official

This refers to a corrupt official who uses a bit of his or her bribes and ill-gotten gains to do good deeds for the public, such as planting trees. It’s an amusing distinction since so many corrupt officials wouldn’t use a personal penny for the public good. Perhaps the knights are trying to salve a guilty conscience with a bit of charity.
